Alright, here we go — the blog is live!
You’ve somehow stumbled onto Nomadically Irish, so first of all: heyo, glad you’re here, and I hope you’ve brought snacks.
I’m Lauren, a 23 year old solo female traveller from the north of Ireland who’s about to jump into full-time van life, with a big cup of coffee in one hand and a very small budget in the other. This site is where I’ll be sharing the reality of life on the road — the good, the bad, and the bits that make me question my life choices— and all the van life advice I wish someone handed me on a plate when I started.
So, what is Nomadically Irish?
It’s a place for real, budget-friendly travel content — not Pinterest-perfect, not sponsored-to-feck, just honest stories, helpful advice, and (hopefully) a few laughs.
Expect:
- Van conversion tips that won’t cost a fortune (and a few mistakes you can laugh at me for making)
- Full-time van life diaries — the day-to-day stuff, the chaos, the calm
- Solo female travel guides, with proper safety chats and zero fluff
- Easy vegan meals you can make with one pan, a dodgy lighter, and some yummy veg
- Baking recipes from a van kitchen — yes, I bake with a cute wee air fryer, no I don’t miss having a real oven
- Scenic routes around Ireland (and eventually beyond) with wild camping spots
- Gear reviews that are brutally honest and tested on the road

Why am I doing this?
Because I wanted freedom, and I wanted out of the 9–5 loop. I wanted to see the world without waiting for someone to come with me. And I wanted to prove that you don’t need loads of money or a massive Instagram following to live a life that’s fully yours, fully free.
Also, I love writing, and I love a bit of yapping, so here we are.
What you’ll find here
Each week, I’ll be posting:
- Travel guides and tips for solo van lifers (female or not, they’ll be useful to all <3)
- Honest monthly breakdowns of how much this lifestyle actually costs
- Easy, cheap, plant-based recipes made from the back of my cute wee van
- And the things no one tells you about living on the road full-time
If you’re dreaming about living on the road, building your camper, or figuring out how to make van life work on a budget — you’re in the right place.

Stick around ✨
You can subscribe to my newsletter if you want to get new blogs, tips, and downloads straight to your inbox. Or just check back here each week. Either way, thanks for being here — it’s good to have you along for the ride.
Now go make a cup of coffee and have a nosy around. I’ve got stories to tell.
See you on the road,
Lauren xxx
